Minister was scheduled to inaugurate the Tirupati international airport on September 5 and lay the foundation stone for the NTPC-BHEL power plant at Mannavaram in Chittoor district on September 6.
A press release from the chief minister's office said the postponement was due to the fact that the financial tie-up for the Tirupati airport is pending clearance with the Union civil aviation ministry. Chief secretary P Ramakanth Reddy has been directed to follow up with the civil aviation ministry and ensure the clearance of the airport, the note said.
As per the revised schedule, the PM will visit Tirupati on September 16 and have darshan of Lord Venkateshwara. He will make a night halt in Tirupati and inaugurate the NTPC-BHEL power plant at Mannavaram near Srikalahasti on September 17. The same day, he is also scheduled to address a public meeting in Tirupati.
Chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy had a telephonic conversation with the Prime Minister on Tuesday evening where the rescheduled dates of the latter's visit to the state was confirmed, the note said.
